WELCOME TO OUR WEBSITE 

Tapua Kennels is new to the Labrador Retriever breed, however we are not new to the world of dog breeding, training, trialing and showing. Under our previous prefix, Mimbil, we have bred sound and healthy dogs working dogs since 1991. With a long term association with the Australian Kelpie and other working-dog breeds, we have recently focussed on the Labrador Retriever.

As members of the MDBA we are committed to their high standards in our breeding program.  

All our Labrador breeding stock have the appropriate health tests conducted prior to breeding. Hips, elbows and a current eye certificate, they are DNA tested for PRA and EIC. All litters are raised in accordance with the modern techniques which enhance temperament and resilience in puppies.

Due to health reasons we only occasionally show our dogs in the General Specials conformation ring. We also believe that an Australian conformation title, whilst an achievable and worthy title, is no guarantee of breeding quality nor sound temperament.  

All our Labrador pups are sold with a contract of health at point of sale and we offer life-time support for training and nutrition.
